Agartala, June 21, 2025: Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday reviewed the progress of several key infrastructure projects aimed at transforming the state’s transport network under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment Scheme 2024–25.
Chairing a high-level review meeting with senior officials from the Transport Department, PWD, Rural Development Department, CPWD, and various construction agencies, the Minister stressed the importance of timely execution and accountability in all ongoing projects.
Highlighting the government’s efforts to enhance public connectivity, Chowdhury said that construction of new motor stands and related infrastructure is advancing across several key locations, including Melaghar, Jirania, Shantirbazar, Julaibari, and Manughat.
He also outlined major infrastructure initiatives currently underway, such as the Rajarbagh Bus Port, Sabroom Interstate Bus Terminus, the new Transport Commissionerate building in Agartala, and District Transport Offices in Kailashahar, Bishramganj, Teliamura, and Shantirbazar.
To ensure effective implementation, Chowdhury directed officials and executing agencies to expedite work and submit Utilization Certificates without delay. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to improving public transport services, strengthening infrastructure, and upholding transparency in all project activities.
