Speaking at the opening day of the 9th session of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly, the Governor said the investments were facilitated through the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2025 held in Agartala.
He highlighted the state’s robust fiscal performance, noting that tax collections during the 2025-26 financial year up to October 2025 stood at ₹994.23 crore in GST, ₹281.40 crore in VAT, ₹271.48 crore in Excise Duty, and ₹26.85 crore in Professional Tax — reflecting stronger economic activity and compliance.

The Governor also underscored new policy initiatives, including the Tripura Women Entrepreneurship Policy 2025 to expand market and credit access for women, and the enactment of the Tripura Jan Vishwas Act aimed at trust-based governance.
On the education front, Tripura achieved a historic milestone on June 23, 2025, when it was declared a fully literate state with a literacy rate of 95.6 per cent under the ULLAS Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram, becoming the third state in India to reach this benchmark in line with the National Education Policy 2020.
Tripura also earned national recognition in renewable energy, being awarded Best Performing State for installing the highest number of solar pumps under the PM-KUSUM scheme. Future plans include upgrading Women’s College into a Women’s University, converting the Tripura Institute of Technology into a State Technical University, and establishing three new competitive examination centres in Agartala, Udaipur and Ambassa.
The Governor further noted that the state currently maintains a road network of 10,617 km, spanning highways, district, urban and rural roads, strengthening connectivity and infrastructure across Tripura.
