Agartala, January 8, 2026: The Tipra Motha party has strongly condemned the recent attack on BJP workers in Hezamara, describing the incident as “completely unexpected and deplorable.” Party spokesperson Rajeshwar Debbarma addressed the media personnel on Thursday, stressing that Tipra Motha does not believe in the politics of violence, which he said only hampers the future of the state.

Debbarma reiterated that violence has no place in Tipra Motha’s ideology. He highlighted that party chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma has consistently emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and harmony in Tripura. “For the state’s development and progress, all sides must work together. Violence and unrest only push the state backward,” he said.

Calling for collective responsibility, Debbarma urged all political parties and citizens to safeguard a peaceful environment. He noted that differences of opinion are natural in a democracy but must never be expressed through violence.

On the Hezamara incident, Debbarma demanded strict action against those involved, regardless of their political affiliation. “Those directly or indirectly linked to this attack must be identified and punished. A swift investigation and exemplary punishment are necessary to ensure such incidents are not repeated,” he asserted.
