Agartala, June 17, 2026: In a bid to strengthen grassroots governance and ensure effective implementation of government welfare schemes, the District Magistrate and Collector of West Tripura conducted an early morning field visit to Simna Gram Panchayat under Mohanpur Rural Development Block on Wednesday.

The visit, which began at around 8 AM, was carried out in the company of Mamata, IAS, Assistant Collector, along with officers from various line departments. The team inspected Simna Higher Secondary School, Simna Anganwadi Centre and several ongoing development works within the Gram Panchayat area.

During the visit, the District Magistrate undertook a detailed review of educational infrastructure, classroom facilities, student attendance, sanitation arrangements, drinking water facilities, nutrition services and the overall functioning of the institutions. Interactions were held with teachers, Anganwadi workers, students and local stakeholders to gain first-hand information about the implementation of government programmes and services at the grassroots level.

The District Magistrate emphasized the importance of providing quality education, strengthening child welfare services and maintaining cleanliness in educational and childcare institutions. Special attention was also given to improving service delivery mechanisms and ensuring that beneficiaries receive the intended benefits of various government schemes.

Officials were instructed to address the issues identified during the inspection on a priority basis. The concerned departments were also directed to work in close coordination to ensure better convergence of services and accelerate developmental outcomes in the area.

The administration stated that such field visits are part of its ongoing efforts to promote responsive governance, strengthen monitoring mechanisms and ensure the effective implementation of welfare and development programmes. The initiative reflects the commitment of the District Administration, West Tripura, towards improving public services and enhancing the quality of life of citizens at the grassroots level.
