Agartala, April 03, 2026: Tripura’s Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport has been included in the expanding network of Udan Yatri Cafes, a passenger-centric initiative of the Ministry of Civil Aviation aimed at providing affordable food and refreshments to air travellers across the country.

According to an official communication, the Udan Yatri Cafe is now operational at 24 airports across India, with Agartala figuring among key airports selected under the initiative. The programme is being implemented under the UDAN scheme to improve passenger convenience and affordability at airports.

The initiative has been launched under the leadership of Ram Mohan Naidu, with the ministry stating that passenger-focused measures are being introduced at an unprecedented pace to transform the travel experience nationwide.

Besides Agartala, airports in cities such as Kolkata, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chennai and Mumbai have also been covered under the scheme.

Officials said the Udan Yatri Cafe is intended to offer budget-friendly food options for passengers, especially benefiting travellers from regional airports such as Agartala, while strengthening comfort and accessibility in domestic air travel.
