Agartala, September 08, 2025: Tripura’s founder of the Tipra Motha Party and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, has appealed to people from the North East living in New Delhi to join a non-political protest at Jantar Mantar on September 9.
In a video message on Sunday, Pradyot said the demonstration, to be led by indigenous people of Tripura, will highlight concerns over illegal migration and demand speedy implementation of the Tiprasa Accord.
“There will be no political flag or speech, only the Indian flag. Our demand is that the Government of India must think about the future of the indigenous people of Tripura,” Pradyot said, adding that repeated meetings on the Accord have failed to yield results.
He cited the example of Tripura youth David Murasing, who recently walked to Delhi from Tripura to press these demands. Calling for unity, Pradyot urged participants to rise above party lines and join in solidarity as Tiprasa people.
“This fight is not against any community but for the existence and survival of our own people. If the government ensures our future, I will not take further steps. But if it doesn’t, I am ready to fight, even to go to jail or sacrifice my life,” he asserted.
