Agartala, February 6, 2026: A two-day workshop on financial literacy was inaugurated today at the State Panchayat Resource Center (SPRC) Conference Hall, Agartala. The programme is being organized by the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) in collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the country’s largest professional accounting body functioning under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. Established on July 1, 1949, ICAI is a statutory body formed under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949.
The inaugural session witnessed participation from South Tripura, North Tripura, Sepahijala, and Gomati districts. Community Level Federation (CLF) office bearers, block staff, and district staff attended the programme, which was formally inaugurated by TRLM CEO Tarit Kanti Chakma in the presence of Dy CEO and ICAI officials.

Highlighting TRLM’s achievements, the CEO informed that the mission has already achieved 96.2% of its bank loan target for 2025-26. Out of the total target of ₹600 crore, ₹577 crore (92.6%) has been sanctioned with two months still remaining. He also noted that ₹100 crore was recently disbursed to one lakh “Lakhpati Didis” under a programme launched by the Chief Minister.
Chakma urged CLF office bearers to maintain financial discipline, ensure timely tax filing, proper bookkeeping, and regular auditing. He emphasized that ICAI was requested to conduct this workshop across all eight districts of the state to strengthen grassroots financial management.
From ICAI, Dixit, CA Pinky Agarwal, and CA Abhijeet Kolapkar attended as speakers, guiding participants on key aspects of financial literacy and accountability.
