Senior BJP leader Yumnam Khemchand on Wednesday said he was pleased to stake claim to form the new government in Manipur before Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Lok Bhavan, following his arrival from New Delhi.
In a statement shared on Facebook, Khemchand said the claim was made in the presence of BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh and BJP Northeast Coordinator Sambit Patra. He added that the oath-taking ceremony would follow shortly.
Expressing confidence in the road ahead, Khemchand said peace and development would be the guiding principles of the new government with the formation of the Council of Ministers. He acknowledged that the political journey towards the vision of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Manipur would come with challenges, but asserted that the government’s priorities would remain firmly focused on achieving these goals.
Khemchand also extended his sincere gratitude to all for the trust, responsibility and honour bestowed upon him.
