Demand for implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) gains momentum in Sikkim, following demonstration by two youth at Jantar Mantar calling-for one unified law in the nation and abolition of special provision of Article 371F.
The Hamro Sikkim Party (HSP) has staged a one-day ‘dharna’ at DC complex; thereby demanding ILP for Sikkim to control influx. Bhaichung Bhutia along with the concerned citizens joined the chorus to implement ILP in Sikkim.
Staged dharna is a counter-dharna against two youth in Jantar Mantar, demanding there should be one law in the nation and special provision of Article 371F should be abolished from Sikkim.
“Demography of Sikkim has changed drastically over he year and in 2019 voting percentage has significantly raised as compared to other state hence it is now necessary to implement ILP and it more needed safeguard article 371 F. At present, 4 northeast states have ILP implementation and now Sikkim should also have the same.”
Bhaichung also cited that the Union Home Minister – Amit Shah once mentioned that “ILP is a gift for Manipur and now Sikkim also needs a gift.”
Bhutia further informed that it will organize a Jan Sansad on October 16, to pass a resolution for implementation of ILP in Sikkim. The resolution will then be handed-over to the Union Minister of Home Affairs & Cooperation – Amit Shah.
“ILP is absolutely necessary to curb the influx, fake RC, fake COI, fake voter ID, unemployment, drug trafficking and crime in Sikkim,” – he added.
