APP Raising Day: Arunachal Government Institutes ‘Golden Jubilee Service Medal’ For Cops

The Arunachal Government on Tuesday announced the institution of the ‘Golden Jubilee Service Medal’ for the state cops and the introduction of Annual Sports Event from this year onwards.

Attending the 50th APP Raising Day function at the Police Training Centre (PTC) in Banderdewa, the Deputy CM – Chowna Mein stated “I am happy to announce institution of Golden Jubilee Service Medal to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Raising Day of Arunachal Pradesh Police viz. 8th November’ 2022, a notification in this regard will be issued by the order of Hon’ble Governor of Arunachal.”

Taking to Twitter, Mein noted “This is done to recognize the selfless service provided by the APP personnel through the years, and the contribution of @ArunachalPolice in maintaining the security and safety of the state and it’s citizens, without which no developmental works could have taken place. All police personnel, serving the state on 8th November 2022, shall be awarded the medal for their services. Govt will also introduce Annual Sports Events for the Arunachal Pradesh Police from this year onwards.

He also saluted the APP personnel for serving the people of the State with utmost dedication to provide transparent, responsive, just and people friendly policing with their motto – ‘Satya, Seva, Suraksha (Truth, Service, Security)’

“Their duty and dedication for the protection, prevention & detection of crime and maintenance of law & order for ensuring internal security in the State is laudable,” – he continued.

“I also commend APP for their recent drive against drug abuse under ‘Campaign Against Drugs’ under which huge quantities of suspected narcotic drugs & cannabis have been seized, drug traffickers arrested and large areas of cannabis & poppy cultivation have been destroyed. I commend the police department under the leadership of Hon’ble Home Minister, Shri Bamang Felix ji and Director General of Police, Shri Satish Golcha for their initiatives and efforts towards making our State a ‘Nasha Mukht Arunachal’,” – he added.

The Arunachal Home Minister – Bamang Felix and Director General of Police (DGP) – Satish Golcha also attended the function, and greeted the police personnel.

Events, such as – wreath laying at Martyr’s Pillar by the dignitaries, ceremonial march past by APP jawans, felicitation of the first batch of APP officials, award of DGP’s Commendation Disc, launch of APP theme song, and release of APP coffee table book, etc. marked the day-long celebration.
