In a significant operation, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Customs Department, seized 1 kilogram of narcotics, specifically Crystal Methamphetamine (ICE), in Badharghat, Tripura, on Sunday. The drugs, valued at approximately Rs 16 crore in the international market, were seized following a tip-off and have been handed over to the Customs Department for further investigation.

This operation is part of the Assam Rifles’ ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region. Earlier, on November 20, Assam Rifles, in coordination with Mizoram’s Anti-Narcotics Squad, recovered 107 grams of heroin worth Rs 74.90 lakh in Aizawl. Three suspects—Lalpeksanga (29), Lalfamkima (22), and Lalchawisangi (35)—were arrested and handed over to the Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department for further legal proceedings.
