Agartala, December 10, 2024: The Tripura Tourism Promo Fest 2024, a major event aimed at boosting the state’s tourism prospects was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on December 03 at Narikel Kunj in Dhalai district. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout with over 25,000 participants. A second celebration took place on December 09 at the iconic Neermahal in Sepahijala district, where thousands gathered to experience the revival of the much-anticipated sound-and-light show, which had been dormant for years.
The grand finale of the Promo Fest is set to take place on December 14 at Agartala’s Swami Vivekananda Maidan. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury addressing a press conference at Geetanjali Tourism Guest House on Tuesday revealed that the event will feature an electrifying performance by India’s legendary music artist Shreya Ghoshal. “We are expecting a historic turnout,” stated the minister, adding that meticulous planning has been undertaken to ensure the success of this monumental occasion.
Elaborating on the arrangements, Chowdhury announced that three types of entry passes, each distinguished by colour would be issued for the event. “Each colour-coded pass corresponds to a specific entry gate to streamline the crowd management process. Saffron-coloured pass is for VVIPs, green-colour pass and pink-coloured pass available for all,” he said. The passes will be available free of cost and can be collected from the Directorate of Tourism beside Agartala Town Hall starting December 11.
The minister also issued a stern warning against any misuse of the passes. “If anyone attempts to sell these passes, the public is urged to report the matter immediately to the authorities and the police. Government events are meant for everyone and no monetary exchange for passes will be tolerated,” he emphasized.
To ensure the event’s success, a series of administrative meetings have been held, with a review session conducted on Tuesday involving top officials including Tourism Department Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, DIG Range Monchak Ipper, Traffic SP Manik Das and other officials.
The Tripura Tourism Promo Fest 2024 promises to be a landmark celebration, showcasing the state’s cultural heritage and tourism potential while setting a new standard for public events.
