In connection with a case reported on October 1, 2024, where unidentified armed miscreants forcibly snatched an SUV (Fortuner) from a civilian in Imphal West district, it has been established that the stolen vehicle was used by an Arambai Tenggol (AT) member, Asem Kanan Singh (50), son of A. Ibochouba Singh, currently residing in Uripok Sorbon Thingel, Imphal West, along with his associates.

A statement by the Manipur Police Control Room said “acting on this information, a joint team of security forces conducted a raid on December 22, 2024, at the residence in Uripok Sorbon Thingel”. However, the accused and his associates were not found at the location. During the raid, the following items were seized one DVD machine of a CCTV camera, one four-wheeler vehicle (i-20), three olive-green bags, one life jacket marked as SDRF (yellow in color), one air gun marked as Hurricane MOD-18 and two bulletproof jackets with metal plates (black in color).

Further investigations are underway to apprehend the accused and uncover additional details related to the case, the statement said.
