Imnainla Jamir from Nagaland was honored with the prestigious ‘National Youth Icon Award’ on National Youth Day during a ceremony held at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi. The event was attended by Jual Oram, Minister of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, along with other distinguished guests.
The National Youth Icon Award, presented annually by the International Youth Committee (IYC), a United Nations-accredited organization, recognizes young individuals worldwide who have made significant contributions to promoting peace, sustainability, and social progress in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Jamir follows in the footsteps of past recipients, including Olympic Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra, and is celebrated for her efforts in youth empowerment, social development, and peacebuilding on a global scale.
