Imphal, Jan 21: Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla reviewed the implementation of the NIK-SHAY and Tuberculosis (TB) Control Programme in the state on Tuesday. The meeting, held at Raj Bhavan in Imphal, was attended by State Health Minister Sapam Ranjan and senior officials from the State Health Department.
During the review, the Governor discussed the ongoing 100-day campaign launched by the Prime Minister to eliminate tuberculosis by 2025. Bhalla emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to combat TB, including expanding patient support, leveraging technology, improving diagnostic tools, and exploring new drugs. He also stressed that the special campaign should be made a mass movement to ensure its success in the state.
The nationwide initiative, part of the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukht Bharat Abhiyan, aims to increase community involvement, raise awareness, reduce stigma, and improve the conditions for TB patients. Ranjan updated the Governor on the progress of the TB control efforts under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukht Bharat Abhiyan in Manipur.
