Security forces conducted a successful operation at Wangoo, leading to the seizure of a cache of arms and ammunition. Acting on intelligence received from the 46 Assam Rifles (AR), a joint team comprising CDO Unit Kakching, Wangoo Police Station, and 46 AR F-Coy launched a search operation in the foothills of Chairel Khunou Hill Range from 7:50 AM to 8:35 AM on Thursday.

During the operation, security personnel recovered a cement bag containing weapons and explosives, along with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) wrapped in blue plastic.

The recovered items include one assault rifle (without markings), a 9mm pistol with an empty magazine, a 5kg IED, two .36 HE grenades, a smoke shell (CS), a tear smoke grenade, a PEK stick with a fuse and detonator, a 3-meter wire, a helmet, a bulletproof vest, jungle boots, two .303 empty cases, one blank cartridge, and packaging materials.

A case has been registered at Wangoo Police Station, and an investigation is underway.
