In a series of counter-insurgency operations, security forces in Manipur arrested four active cadres belonging to different proscribed outfits from various locations across the state.
On Tuesday, an active cadre of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), identified as Wangkhairakpam Nandi Singh (42) of Lousangkhong Makha Leikai, was apprehended by security personnel at Napet Palli Thongkong, near the DGR Velocity KSK oil pump under Lamlai Police Station, Imphal East District.
In another operation the same day, Manipur Police arrested a female cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-Nongdrenkhomba), Tongbram Dolly Devi (20), a resident of Kadangband Mayai Leikai under Lamshang Police Station, Imphal West. She was picked up from Lamphel Super Market near Traffic Island in Imphal West District. She had been residing temporarily at Uripok RIMS Road near Sangai Hospital.
In a third operation, an active member of the KYKL (SOREPA), Laishram Nongdamba Singh alias Lanleiba (25), of Hiyangthang Makha Leikai under Wangoi Police Station, Imphal West, was arrested from his locality. A mobile phone was recovered from his possession during the operation.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation conducted on Monday, security forces apprehended Sorokhaibam Malemnganba Singh alias Ori, an active cadre of KCP (PWG), from the Wangoo Sadankhong area under Wangoo Police Station in Kakching District. He hails from Wangjing Lamding Cherapur Thounaojam Leikai in Thoubal District.
All the arrested individuals are currently under the custody of the respective police units for further investigation.
