Agartala, May 06, 2025: In a scathing attack on the opposition, Tripura BJP president and MP Rajib Bhattacharjee on Tuesday lambasted both the CPIM and the Congress during a press conference, accusing them of hypocrisy and historical wrongdoing.
Taking aim at the Left, Bhattacharya said, “The job scam in Tripura during the Left rule is not unknown to anyone in the state. It’s ridiculous that they are now talking about employment. Have they forgotten their sins?” He alleged that numerous job-related scams occurred under the 25-year rule of the CPIM and sarcastically suggested, “The opposition leader should take a dip in the Kumbh Mela to wash away his sins. A bath in the Howrah river is no longer enough.”
Bhattacharya didn’t spare the Congress either, accusing the party of historical disrespect towards Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. “The Congress has always been against Ambedkar. They never even gave him a chance to speak during their rule. History is a witness to how they insulted him in various ways,” he stated.
Condemning the ongoing “Save the Constitution” campaign by the Congress, he remarked, “Now they are doing a drama in the name of saving the Constitution. But it was the Congress that violated the Constitution multiple times in the past. Their sudden concern is nothing but a hoax meant to mislead the public.”
Bhattacharya asserted that the BJP remains committed to honoring the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar and exposing the double standards of the opposition.
