Guwahati, May 8: IIT Guwahati has partnered with Assam’s Raj Bhavan to launch the Gyan Kalyan Project, a pioneering initiative aimed at digitally transforming the operations of the Raj Bhavan. The Memorandum of Association (MoA) for the project was signed on Wednesday in the presence of Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya.
The MoA was signed by Meenakshi Sundaram, Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor of Assam, and Prof. Devendra Jalihal, Director of IIT Guwahati. The collaboration will focus on improving the efficiency and quality of Raj Bhavan’s functions through digitalization.
As part of the agreement, IIT Guwahati will serve as a knowledge partner and consultant for the Gyan Kalyan Project. The initiative aims to enhance public service delivery, incorporating advanced digital technologies while ensuring stringent security and data protection standards.
The project will streamline Raj Bhavan’s operations, supporting various constitutional functions such as legislative, executive, and discretionary responsibilities. IIT Guwahati will also help develop a digital governance framework, including the Chancellor’s Portal, Governor’s Office Portal, and tools for public engagement such as grievance redressal and petitions.
