Kohima, May 13: The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has escalated its agitation against the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) by initiating the second phase of its indefinite blockade along the NH-29 Chakhabama-Kikruma Package-II stretch.
As part of the protest, CSU members seized three vehicles belonging to NHIDCL and one government-registered vehicle, citing the failure of NHIDCL and EPC contractor M/s Ratna Infrastructure Projects Pvt. Ltd. to fulfill earlier assurances.
The blockade exempts essential services such as medical, administrative, police and paramilitary forces, fire and emergency response units, and staff of the power and PHE departments on duty.
