Agartala, May 15, 2025: Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya Scindia, on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting with Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to accelerate investment promotion efforts across the North Eastern Region. The deliberations emphasized the need for a strategic roadmap and upcoming stakeholder consultations with industry leaders, potential investors, and state officials.

The meeting, attended by Tshering T. Bhutia, Sikkim’s Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation, senior officials from Meghalaya, and the MDoNER team, aimed at forging a collaborative push towards enhancing the investment landscape of the region.

Taking to social media platform X, Union Minister Scindia remarked, “Together, we are driving a unified vision for a vibrant, investment-ready Northeast.”

The Union Minister also held a separate follow-up session with the Tripura CM and senior state officials to review key developmental projects in the state. Emphasizing Tripura’s strategic role, the Minister stated, “With Tripura’s tremendous promise as a gateway for tourism, trade, agriculture, and investment in the Northeast, there is a pressing need to strengthen infrastructure and unlock its full potential for inclusive growth and contribute meaningfully to the goal of a Viksit Bharat.”

Later, Chief Minister Dr. Saha, who serves as the convener of the High-Level Task Force on Investment Promotion formed by the North Eastern Council (NEC), informed that the second meeting of the task force was held virtually. He confirmed that reputed academic institutions and expert agencies would be engaged in formulating a comprehensive Investment Policy for the North Eastern Region.

“A series of stakeholder consultations will be conducted soon to ensure broad-based inputs for the strategic roadmap,” added the Chief Minister.
