Shillong, Jun 13: The Meghalaya Cabinet has approved the Chief Minister’s Regional Connectivity Scheme 2025, aimed at strengthening transport links between District Headquarters and Block and Regional Headquarters.

The scheme will introduce a fleet of 90 buses to improve daily commuting options for students, office workers, and the general public across the state.

Under the scheme, financial support covering up to 50% of the total vehicle cost will be provided. The government will contribute 35% towards the on-road cost as a down payment, while beneficiaries will contribute 5%. The remaining 60% will be covered through bank loans, repayable over a five-year period.
