Shillong, May 22: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma announced on Thursday, 22 May, the launch of a German Language Training Program aimed at preparing 20 nurses from the state for employment opportunities in Germany’s healthcare sector.

The initiative will provide professional German language training to the selected nurses, facilitating their placement and career advancement abroad. The program is designed to open pathways to global employment, leveraging Meghalaya’s large and skilled youth population.
Chief Minister Sangma highlighted that such international collaborations not only enhance the professional experience of young workers but also contribute to improving the livelihoods of families and communities in the state.
He noted that Meghalaya had previously supported nurse placements in Japan, and with Germany now added to the list, the state continues to address global human resource demands while promoting the capabilities of its workforce.
