The 51.38-km Bairabi-Sairang railway line, constructed to connect Aizawl with the national rail network, has been completed and is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

An official from Northeast Frontier Railway confirmed that the line has received clearance from the Commissioner of Railway Safety. The route will connect Aizawl via Silchar, significantly enhancing rail connectivity in Mizoram.

The project is expected to improve transportation infrastructure and facilitate regional development in the hilly terrain of the state.
