Agartala, June 28, 2025: The Tripura State Cooperative Bank is set to play a vital role in fulfilling the vision of strengthening the rural economy as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha. This was stated by Cooperation Minister Shuklacharan Noatia while addressing the Annual General Meeting of the bank held at Agartala Town Hall on Saturday.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the cooperative banking sector in rural development, Minister Noatia said, “Strengthening the rural economy of the country and the state is the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and our Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha. The Tripura State Cooperative Bank will play a leading role in realising this dream.”
The meeting, which reviewed the bank’s performance over the past year and adopted an action plan for the upcoming year, saw the presence of several key officials including the Chairman of the Bank Nagadhiraj Dutta, NABARD State Branch General Manager Anil S. Katmari, and Managing Director of the bank Bhajan Chandra Roy.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Noatia informed that the Tripura State Cooperative Bank currently operates 66 branches across the state. “We are focusing on expanding infrastructure to bring more rural areas under banking coverage. As part of this, 156 employees have already been recruited,” he added.
He also emphasized that the annual general meeting serves as a crucial platform for evaluating the bank’s performance and setting future targets aligned with state and national development goals.
