Agartala, September 27, 2025: Tripura police has intensified patrolling and surveillance measures in anticipation of the upcoming Durga Puja festivities. Jatrapur Police Station OC Smriti Kanta Bardhan stated that the initiatives are aimed at ensuring peace and order in the police station’s jurisdiction during the festive season.

As part of these efforts, police carried out a raid on Friday last in Daudrani Para under Dakshin Paharpur Panchayat, following a secret tip-off. The operation, conducted after 8 p.m., led to the recovery of 150 bottles of Phensedyl from the residence of Khorshed Alam (40). Alam was arrested on the spot and the narcotics were seized.

The joint raid team included OC Bardhan, Sub-Inspectors Amar Kishore Debbarma and Pritam Dutta, along with TSR personnel and other police constables.

OC Bardhan confirmed that Alam and his father, Alka Mia, were brought to the police station the same night. He added that immediate action will be taken whenever similar intelligence inputs are received.
