Aizawl, Nov 6: Installation of a gas pipeline connecting Tripura and Mizoram is progressing, officials said on Wednesday. The project, part of the North East Gas Grid (NEGG), is aimed at supplying piped natural gas to households in Mizoram, particularly in Aizawl.
Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister B. Lalchhanzova chaired a review meeting on Tuesday to assess the project’s progress. The 119-km pipeline will run from Panisagar in Tripura to Sihhmui near Aizawl, with 104 km of the route passing through Mizoram. Officials reported that around 23.5 percent of the work, covering approximately 28 km, has been completed so far.
The state government is making concerted efforts to ensure early completion, while Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited, executing the project, is taking measures to accelerate work on the remaining sections.
