Vijay Diwas was observed today at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur, to commemorate the bravery and supreme sacrifice of Indian soldiers whose valour secured the nation’s historic victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
Addressing the gathering, Assistant Commissioner to the Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur, Sh. Gunamani underscored the pivotal role of the Indian Armed Forces in safeguarding the country’s integrity and sovereignty. He stated that national development is intrinsically linked to a strong sense of nationalism and urged citizens to understand the nation’s history, take pride in its achievements, and actively contribute towards preserving national unity.
Gunamani further called upon all citizens to share the collective responsibility of protecting and upholding the nation’s values to ensure its continued peace and prosperity.
Officials of the district administration attended the programme. The observance concluded with a two-minute silence in honour of the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1971 war.
