Gangtok, May 7: The Sikkim State Disaster Management Authority (SSDMA) has been conferred the prestigious Subhas Chandra Bose Disaster Management Award for 2026 in recognition of its distinguished contribution to disaster management and outstanding service to the people.
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang congratulated the Authority on the achievement and stated that the honour reflects the dedication, professionalism, and tireless efforts of the entire team in strengthening disaster preparedness, response, and resilience across the State.
He said the award is a matter of immense pride for the people of Sikkim and acknowledged the State’s continued commitment towards effective disaster management and public service.
The Chief Minister also appreciated the contribution of officers, staff members, volunteers, and stakeholders associated with the Authority for their commendable service. He further extended his best wishes for the organisation’s continued success in safeguarding lives and enhancing community resilience across the State.
