Agartala, May 15, 2026: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday lauded the contribution of ASHA workers in strengthening grassroots healthcare services across the state, stating that their role remains crucial in delivering health facilities to the doorsteps of common people.
Addressing the state-level ASHA convention held at the indoor hall of the International Fair Complex in Hapaniya, the Chief Minister said ASHA workers have been playing an active and dedicated role in every aspect of public health service — from spreading awareness among people to ensuring the health protection of mothers and children and implementing vaccination programmes successfully.
“The role of ASHA workers is extremely important in bringing the state’s health services to the doorsteps of the common people. They have been working with dedication and sincerity in every field,” Dr. Saha said.
The Chief Minister also assured that the state government is committed to safeguarding the rights and dignity of ASHA workers. He said the government is considering measures related to honorary increment, advanced training opportunities and the overall welfare of the 7,866 ASHA workers currently serving across Tripura.
“Our government is determined to ensure the fair rights and dignity of ASHA workers,” he added.
Dr. Saha further expressed gratitude to the ASHA workers for their tireless efforts and humanitarian service, acknowledging their significant contribution to strengthening the healthcare system in the state.
