Agartala, May 16, 2026: Tripura’s Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Saturday set an example of energy awareness by riding scooty to the State Secretariat, inspired by the call of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the global energy crisis.

Speaking to reporters, the Minister said his initiative carried the message of energy conservation and public awareness. “In the national interest, it is essential for all of us to be conscious of the need to conserve energy and minimize unnecessary waste. Small initiatives and awareness lay the foundation for significant changes in the future,” he emphasized.

By choosing a scooty over conventional transport, Singha Roy highlighted the importance of adopting sustainable practices in everyday life. He noted that such symbolic steps can inspire citizens to embrace energy-efficient habits, contributing to both environmental protection and national progress.

Officials and staff at the Secretariat welcomed the Minister’s gesture, describing it as a timely reminder of the responsibility shared by all in tackling the challenges of energy scarcity.
