Guwahati, May 16: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated India’s first AI-powered ‘phygital’ branch of Slice Small Finance Bank at GS Road, Guwahati, marking a significant step in Assam’s digital transformation journey.

The newly launched facility combines physical accessibility with advanced AI infrastructure, offering paperless transactions and automated onboarding to simplify banking services. Officials noted that this initiative emphasizes the government’s commitment to innovation-led growth and the delivery of technology-enabled financial services across the state.

Speaking at the inauguration in Dispur, the Chief Minister Emphasized Assam’s evolving growth story, pointing out that several leading institutions and companies are now establishing their presence in Guwahati. He emphasized that these developments are creating fresh employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for the youth.

Dr. Sarma also urged stakeholders to maintain a constructive environment to sustain Assam’s growth momentum and attract further investments, reinforcing the state’s vision of becoming a hub for innovation and enterprise.
