Agartala, June 11, 2026: Tripura’s Minority Welfare Minister Sukla Charan Noatia has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the holistic development and empowerment of the Bru community following a high-level meeting held in New Delhi today with Smt. Ranjana Chopra, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Government of India.

Describing the engagement as “productive,” the Minister said that detailed discussions were held on multiple ongoing and upcoming development projects focused on improving the socio-economic conditions of the Bru community in Tripura.

“Strengthening Welfare Initiatives for Bru Community,” said Sukla Charan Noatia, adding, “We engaged in extensive discussions regarding various ongoing and upcoming development projects aimed at the holistic welfare, sustainable livelihood, and socio-economic empowerment of the Bru Community in Tripura.”

He further emphasized that the state government remains aligned with the broader national vision of inclusive growth and last-mile delivery of welfare services. The Minister highlighted that the initiatives are being implemented under the guidance and leadership of the Central Government.

“Our state government, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, remains deeply committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last mile,” Noatia stated.

Officials noted that the discussions also focused on strengthening coordination between the State Government and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to accelerate welfare schemes, livelihood support programs, and infrastructure development for Bru resettlement and rehabilitation.
