As part of the inspection, Minister Shuklacharan Noatia led a high-level delegation to the area near the Debdaru Primary Health Centre in Jolaibari, where the first site was examined. Later, the team visited the old and extensive Horticulture Department orchard located in the Kalsi area and held detailed discussions regarding the feasibility of setting up the medical college there.
The delegation included Ashok Mog, Chairman of the Jolaibari Block Steering Committee (BSC); Nirmal Adhikari, Secretary of the Minority Welfare Department; Muhammad Sajjad P. After the inspection, Minister Shuklacharan Noatia said that identifying and finalizing suitable land at the earliest would help accelerate the implementation process of this important central government-supported project.
He stated, “A medical college in Jolaibari will not only improve healthcare facilities for the people of South Tripura but will also contribute significantly to education, employment generation, connectivity and economic development in the region.”
Officials and experts believe that establishing a medical college in a rural area will provide better access to advanced medical treatment for people from surrounding areas while also expanding opportunities in medical education and healthcare services.
The project is being viewed by local residents as a landmark initiative that could transform the healthcare landscape of the region. They believe that the establishment of such an institution would open a new chapter in the development journey of the Jolaibari Assembly constituency.
With Minister Shuklacharan Noatia’s continued focus on development-oriented initiatives and public welfare, expectations have grown among the people that the proposed medical college will soon move from planning stages towards reality.
