Itanagar, May 7: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday paid tribute to the Indian armed forces on the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, commending their courage and determination in defending the nation.

In a message shared on X, Khandu said the bravery displayed during the operation sent a powerful signal that every attack on India would be met with “strength and resolve.” He expressed pride in the armed forces’ role in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and dignity, adding that the nation stands united in honoring their valour and commitment.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 last year in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists. The operation involved airstrikes on nine terror infrastructures across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, marking a decisive countermeasure against cross-border terrorism.

Khandu has consistently lauded the contributions of the armed forces, particularly in the strategically sensitive northeastern region, and reiterated the state government’s respect and support for personnel serving under demanding conditions.
