Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday reaffirmed Arunachal Pradesh’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent and strengthening an inclusive sports ecosystem across the state.
Sharing on X an infographic under the “PEMA 3.0 Year of Reforms & Growth” initiative, Khandu highlighted the state’s remarkable progress in the sports sector and lauded athletes excelling at national and international levels.
“Our state continues to shine on the national and international stage a testament to the talent, hard work, and determination of our sportspersons,” Khandu stated, expressing pride in their consistent achievements across disciplines.
The chief minister said the government’s reforms and targeted investments have transformed the sporting landscape, paving the way for athletes to compete at the highest levels. He assured continued focus on modern infrastructure, athlete welfare, and capacity-building initiatives.
“The state government remains fully committed to supporting sports and athletes, ensuring that every talent gets the platform it deserves,” he affirmed.
According to the infographic shared by Khandu, Arunachal Pradesh has secured more than 1,200 medals in recognised international, national, and zonal events since 2016, ranked second among northeastern states at the 38th National Games 2025, and successfully hosted the sixth U-19 SAFF Championship 2025.
The infographic also noted that over ₹5 crore has been disbursed as cash incentives to sportspersons, encouraging sporting excellence. The launch of the Arunachal Olympics Mission, a flagship initiative, aims to groom young talent, strengthen sports culture, and prepare athletes for global competition.
Officials said the PEMA 3.0 theme, focused on reforms and growth, has prioritised infrastructure and human resource development, providing rural and emerging athletes access to high-quality training, coaching, and exposure.
