Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Monday attended the NorthEast India Tourism Confederation (NEITC) conference in Namsai, marking the first time the district has hosted such an event.

He emphasized that tourism in the state should be community-driven, involving local tour operators, homestay owners, self-help groups, and entrepreneurs. Highlighting improvements in connectivity and infrastructure, he said these developments are opening new opportunities and integrating Arunachal Pradesh with national and international tourism circuits.

Chowna Mein also stressed the need for responsible and sustainable tourism, adhering to homestay guidelines to ensure quality and authenticity while preventing unregulated expansion.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to positioning Arunachal Pradesh as a premier tourism destination through inclusive and well-regulated development.
