Roing Police Bust Sex Racket At Meka Resort, Rescue 4 Women From Assam

Lower Dibang Valley Police cracked down on a suspected sex racket last night, 3/5/26 raiding Lego Resort in Meka and rescuing four women from Assam.

Acting on reliable inputs about pimping and prostitution 1-2 days ago a Roing Police team led by the officer-in-charge Taniya Uli, conducted a surprise raid at the resort. Four female sex workers from Assam were rescued and brought to Roing Police Station.

The resort manager and several customers were taken into custody. The resort owner was also detained for questioning. Police said the sex workers and customers were caught red-handed engaging in prostitution.

According to police, the women were brought from the Tinsukia area of Assam while most customers were locals.

Officials said information about illegal activities at the site had been received over the past few days through public complaints made both in secret and at open meetings. Police noted concerns that local youth risk being drawn into such activities, endangering their future and public health.

A case has been registered at Roing PS under C/No. 18/2026 U/S 143(2)/144(2)/271/61/3(5) R/W Sec 3 (2)(a)/3(2)(b)/4/5(i)(a)/5(i)(f) of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

Further investigation is underway.
