Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday inaugurated a series of natural gas projects aimed at expanding clean energy access across the state. Speaking during a programme held at the state secretariat, Sarma launched new initiatives that include PNG supply projects and industrial PNG connectivity in Mangaldai and Tezpur, along with fresh CNG facilities at Uhani and Goraimari.
The Chief Minister emphasized that these ventures will deliver reliable and environment-friendly natural gas connectivity to households, businesses, and industries. He noted that the projects are expected to contribute significantly to sustainable development while supporting Assam’s economic growth trajectory. By enhancing access to clean fuel, the state government hopes to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources and promote greener practices across sectors.
Sarma emphasized that the expansion of natural gas infrastructure represents a step toward modernizing Assam’s energy ecosystem, ensuring that communities benefit from affordable and eco-conscious solutions.
