Guwahati, Apr 17: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu on Friday said that the Higher Secondary (HS) Class 12 examination results for 2026 will not be declared on April 17, rejecting claims circulating on social media about the result date.
In a public statement, the minister described the reports as rumours and advised students to refer only to official announcements for accurate information regarding the result schedule.
“HS Exam results will not be declared tomorrow. This is a rumour,” Ranoj Pegu said.
The clarification comes amid anticipation among more than 3 lakh students who appeared for the HS examinations conducted from February 11 to March 16. The evaluation process is currently underway, and the results are expected to be declared towards the end of April, with April 30 being considered a likely date based on the usual timeline.
Last year, over 3 lakh students appeared for the HS examinations across streams. The pass percentages recorded were 84.888% in Science, 82.182% in Commerce, 81.032% in Arts, and 86.67% in Vocational studies.
Once declared, students will be able to check their results on the official Assam Higher Secondary Education Council website, as well as through DigiLocker and the UPOLOBDHA mobile application.
