*Boys Outperform Girls in Assam Board Class 10 Exams; Dima Hasao Emerges as Best Performing District*
Guwahati, April 10: The Assam State School Education Board announced the results for the 2026 Class 10 examinations on Friday, revealing that boys outperformed girls in overall success rates. Out of the 429,249 students who sat for the exams held in February and March, 65.62 percent successfully cleared the boards, marking a notable improvement from the 63.98 percent pass rate recorded in 2025.
A gender-wise breakdown of the performance showed that 67.78 percent of male candidates passed the examination, compared to 63.96 percent of female candidates. Leading the state in academic excellence, Jyotirmay Das of Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Patacharkuchi, secured the top position by scoring 591 out of 600 marks. The second rank was achieved by Akankha Bhuyan of Ambikagiri Rai Chaudhuri Jatiya Vidyalaya with 589 marks, while the third position was shared by Jia Farah Islam of Little Flower HS School, Dibrugarh, and Surjit Akhtar of Little Flowers School, Nalbari, both securing 588 marks.
On a regional level, Dima Hasao claimed the title of the best-performing district with a high pass percentage of 88.23, followed by Sivasagar at 84.08 percent and Dibrugarh at 78.46 percent. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended his congratulations to the successful candidates via social media, encouraging those who fell short of their expectations to remain resilient and persistent in their future endeavors. He emphasized that hard work and determination would eventually lead to success for every student, regardless of this single milestone.
