Agartala, January 03, 2025: Tripura is set to witness a significant boost to its tourism landscape with the upcoming foundation stone laying ceremony for a state-of-the-art eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and water park project at Sachindranagar Colony in Jirania. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will officially inaugurate the project on January 5, marking a pivotal step in the state’s tourism development.
The ambitious initiative, inspired by Kolkata’s iconic Nicco Park, is being implemented under the Centre’s Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme. Once completed, the park is expected to emerge as a major tourist magnet, while also fulfilling a long-standing aspiration of the local community.
In preparation for the high-profile event, State Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury conducted a comprehensive site inspection on Friday. Accompanied by the Jirania Sub-Divisional Magistrate, senior officials, and local residents, the minister reviewed the project layout and assessed readiness for the upcoming ceremony.
Speaking to the media, Minister Chowdhury emphasized the project’s multifaceted benefits. “This development will not only diversify Tripura’s tourism offerings but also create employment opportunities and enhance local infrastructure,” he said. “For the people of Jirania, it represents the realization of a long-cherished dream.”
As the region gears up for the ceremonial launch, anticipation is building among residents and stakeholders alike. The project is being hailed as a transformative milestone in Tripura’s journey toward becoming a dynamic and sustainable tourism destination in the Northeast.
