Kohima, Apr 18: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav encouraged young people on Saturday to shift their focus from traditional government jobs toward innovation, entrepreneurship, and creative pursuits. During an interaction with students from Eden Higher Secondary School at Lok Bhavan as part of their educational tour, he emphasized that success demands hard work, self-confidence, and unwavering determination, with no shortcuts available.

In a broad discussion covering leadership, governance, and education, Yadav advised the students to pursue ambitious goals, dream boldly, and make meaningful contributions to society. He warned against confining aspirations to public sector employment, instead pointing to vast opportunities in innovation-led fields and Nagaland’s untapped strengths in tourism and related sectors.

The governor also stressed harnessing technology responsibly as a powerful tool for productivity. Drawing from his personal path into public service inspired by Jayaprakash Narayan’s influence on student movements he noted that true commitment to service arises from inner conviction.

Yadav highlighted gender equality, affirming women’s equal capabilities and potential alongside men, and called for unified action to advance the state. Later, he visited the Cathedral of Kohima (Mary Help of Christians Church), praising its vital role in fostering peace, compassion, education, and service while shaping Nagaland’s social and cultural fabric.
