Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has strongly condemned the ambush on a goods vehicle between Leingangching and T.S. Kasom Village along National Highway-202 under Litan Police Station, in which a truck driver from West Bengal was killed and a police constable sustained injuries.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Chief Minister described the attack as a “heinous” and “senseless act of violence” and asserted that such incidents would not be tolerated.
Expressing grief over the incident, he conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased truck driver and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. He also wished the injured police constable a speedy and full recovery.
The Chief Minister further stated that those responsible for the ambush would be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
