Kohima, May 29: The Economics and Statistics Department in Nagaland will conduct a special digitization drive for manual birth and death certificates of officers and staff at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima, from June 2 to 4. The initiative, to be held daily between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Secretariat Complex lobby, will also cover certificates belonging to spouses and children.

Officials said the effort is part of a wider push to achieve complete digitization of legacy birth and death records across the state, aimed at strengthening secure digital governance. Services offered during the drive will include registration of births and deaths, delayed registration, and correction of certificate details for events occurring within Kohima Sadar.

The Department has requested all Secretariat officials and staff to cooperate by bringing original certificates and supporting documents during the scheduled period.
