Agartala, April 20, 2026: Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, is set to visit Tripura on April 21 to take part in the Prana Pratishtha ceremony of the Maa Chinmayi Soundarya Temple at Fakira Mura in Mohanpur. The অনুষ্ঠান coincides with the observance of Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti.

Amit Rakshit, president of the Chinmaya Seva Trust under Chinmaya Mission International, said the event both Prana Pratishtha and Kumbha Abhishekam rituals will be performed, drawing devotees and spiritual followers from different regions.

Several dignitaries are expected to attend the ceremony, including Jishnu Dev Varma, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, and Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha. Organisers believe their presence will add prominence to the event.

Rakshit described the temple as a unique spiritual structure dedicated to Maa Tripura Sundari. The temple has been constructed using 27 black stone pillars sourced from Tamil Nadu, symbolising the 27 Nakshatras of Hindu astrology. Notably, the structure has no conventional roof, reflecting an open connection with the divine.

At the heart of the temple stands a 15-foot idol of Maa Tripura Sundari carved from black stone, alongside a smaller idol inspired by the revered Tripura Sundari Temple, commonly known as Mata Bari, used for daily worshipping rituals.

The temple premises also features carvings and inscriptions based on Saundarya Lahari and other sacred texts. To ensure adherence to traditional rituals, specially selected priests from Nepal will conduct the ceremonies following a detailed screening process, organisers added.
