Agartala, October 28, 2025: BJP’s All India Spokesperson, North Eastern Region Coordinator and Member of Parliament Dr. Sambit Patra arrived in Tripura on Tuesday marking a politically significant visit amid escalating tensions within the state’s ruling alliance.

Dr. Patra was received at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport by MLA Bhagwan Das and senior BJP leaders. Following his arrival, he held a meeting with BJP State President and MP Rajib Bhattacharya to discuss the prevailing political situation in the state.

The visit comes at a time when political temperatures are running high in Tripura. Clashes have reportedly intensified between the ruling BJP and its alliance partner, Tipra Motha. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has publicly accused the partner party of being involved in several disruptive incidents. Internal discord within the BJP has also come to the fore, further fueling political speculation.

With debates and discussions gaining momentum across the state, Dr. Patra’s visit is being viewed as strategically crucial. Political observers believe that his presence could be aimed at damage control, organizational strengthening and addressing the growing friction within the ruling dispensation.
