Agartala, January 22, 2025: The Government of Tripura is set to host the much-anticipated Tripura Business Conclave 2025, aimed at positioning the state as a premier destination for investors, industry leaders, and policymakers. Scheduled for 7th and 8th February 2025 at Hotel Polo Towers, Agartala, the event promises to showcase Tripura’s immense potential across key sectors.
Addressing a press conference in Agartala on Wednesday, Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma expressed her enthusiasm stating, “Tripura is at a pivotal juncture in its economic growth. The Business Conclave 2025 is our effort to highlight the state’s rich resources, strategic location, and investor-friendly policies. We invite stakeholders to explore the vast opportunities Tripura has to offer.”
The two-day conclave, titled “Destination Tripura – Business Conclave, 2025,” will feature focused sectoral discussions in areas such as tourism, education and skill development, IT, healthcare, and food processing. It will also include Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings aimed at fostering collaboration. Additionally, the event will witness MoU signings and exchanges to formalize strategic partnerships.
Minister Chakma emphasized the state’s commitment to fostering economic development, adding, “This conclave will serve as a catalyst for investments that will spur job creation, improve infrastructure, and boost local industries.”
The key sectors in focus during the conclave include IT and Electronics, where the implementation of the Tripura IT/ITeS Policy 2022 is rapidly enhancing the state’s digital infrastructure. Minister Santana Chakma highlighted, “Tripura is positioning itself as a hub for IT/ITeS enterprises, with initiatives aimed at promoting digital education and infrastructure.”
In the education sector, collaborations with leading firms like Tata Technologies are driving projects to upgrade ITIs and enhance skill development. Chakma stated, “Our educational initiatives are equipping the youth with the skills needed to meet global standards.”
Healthcare is another priority area, with Tripura attracting significant investments, including the establishment of a private super-specialty hospital. The minister remarked, “Healthcare is a priority sector, and we are committed to improving medical facilities across the state.”
Tourism is also being leveraged, with Tripura’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty positioning the state as a rising star in the industry. Chakma added, “We are actively promoting investments to develop Tripura as a global tourist destination.”
Additionally, sectors like rubber, bamboo, agar, and food processing are set to gain prominence during the conclave, showcasing the state’s diverse industrial potential.
The state has seen a steady rise in investments within industrial estates. As per official data, 26 new units are projected for the financial year 2024-25, contributing to an impressive investment of ₹428.07 crore. Reflecting on this growth, Minister Chakma stated, “The increasing number of industrial units and investments is a testament to Tripura’s business-friendly environment.”
The conclave aims to: attract investments and spur economic growth, showcase Tripura’s resources and infrastructure, facilitate partnerships between the government and private sectors, and advocate for policies fostering an investor-friendly climate.
Minister Chakma concluded, “This conclave is not just about investment; it’s about building a brighter future for Tripura. Together, we can unlock the state’s true potential.”
