Agartala, Feb 3: NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the Tripura Institution for Transformation (TIFT), Government of Tripura, successfully organised the 3rd Regional Dialogue under the State Support Mission (SSM) on February 3, 2026, in Agartala. The dialogue brought together representatives from 14 Eastern and North-Eastern States and Union Territories, marking the third event in a national series under the Central Sector Scheme aimed at strengthening structured engagement between NITI Aayog and States/UTs through State Institutions for Transformation (SITs).
The regional dialogue focused on facilitating peer learning among States and UTs by sharing experiences and best practices related to SSM initiatives. Discussions underscored the critical role of SITs in shaping State-level visions, driving reforms, and aligning development strategies with the national goal of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Earlier editions of the Regional Dialogue were held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on June 2, 2025, for 10 northern States/UTs, followed by the second dialogue in Pune, Maharashtra, on September 25, 2025, which saw participation from 11 States/UTs.
The inaugural session was attended by Chief Minister of Tripura Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Vice Chairperson of SETU Aayog, Uttarakhand, Raj Shekhar Joshi, Additional Secretary (Virtual) and Programme Director (States), NITI Aayog Rohit Kumar, CEO of TIFT Kiran Gitte, and Joint Secretary and Mission Director (SSM), NITI Aayog K.S. Rejimon.
Deliberations across sessions reflected a shared consensus on SITs emerging as key institutional platforms for reform implementation and inter-State learning under the SSM, while also highlighting the need to consolidate early gains and enhance operational effectiveness.
Sessions covered themes including cooperative federalism, the evolving role of SITs in vision-led and data-driven governance, global partnerships for regional transformation, and State Vision @2047. The dialogue concluded with an open discussion on the future roadmap of the State Support Mission, reaffirming the commitment to strengthening SITs as catalysts for State-led growth and long-term development.
