Tripura Collects Rs 889 Crore under Small Savings by December 2025

Agartala, February 03, 2026: An awareness programme on financial inclusion, Prime Minister’s flagship schemes, cybercrime, and small savings was organized today at the Muktadhara Auditorium here. The event was initiated by the Directorate of State Finance Department with support from the West Tripura District Magistrate’s office.

The programme was inaugurated by Biswajit Shil, Sabhadhipati of the Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad. In his address, Shil credited the success of the state’s small savings schemes to the dedicated agents engaged in mobilizing funds. He extended congratulations to all agents and urged them to continue their efforts while also spreading awareness about flagship government projects to encourage public participation.

As part of the event, eight SAS agents and eight MPKBY agents from different districts were felicitated for their outstanding performance in the small savings programme. They were presented with mementos and awards by Shil and other dignitaries.

The welcome address was delivered by Rakhi Biswas, Director of the Small Savings Department under the State Financial Institution. Superintendent of Agartala Head Post Office, Maniklal Das, spoke on various postal schemes, while Inspector Titon Pal of Agartala Cyber Crime Branch discussed issues related to cybercrime. The vote of thanks was offered by Amila Riang, Joint Director of the Small Savings Department.

During the programme, it was announced that the state had set a target of mobilizing Rs 1,100 crore under small savings schemes for the 2025–26 financial year. By December 2025, collections had reached Rs 889.19 crore, with contributions from 2,189 MPKBY agents and 1,972 SAS agents across Tripura.

Among the agents, Montosh Kumar Deb of West Tripura topped the list, collecting Rs 70.50 crore by December 2025. Sribas Roy of Gomati district ranked second with Rs 30.50 crore, while Pratima Chakraborty of South Tripura secured third place with Rs 14.89 crore.
